Our staff has many unique and positive attributes.
All of our coaches and counselors have an extensive background in collegiate sports; as well as, a great understanding of children. Staff members provide a wonderful balance of caring, nurturing and structure while teaching the concepts of work ethic, toughness and positive attitude. At Fun & Sports we believe that anything can be accomplished in a fun environment.
Coach Samir personally selects each coach and counselor, to ensure that his level of energy, professionalism and passion are consistent throughout all Fun & Sports events and classes. All counselors and coaches go through a complete background check and fingerprinting process. Counselor and Coaches have obtained a minimum of sports experience in high school while some have gone on to collegiate and professional sports experience.
Samir earned his BA in Physical Education along with a double minor in Spanish and Latin American Studies from Whittier College. He is the founder and president of Fun & Sports, as well as our sister company Gottem Coach Entertainment.
About Fun & Sports
Fun & Sorts offers a variety of sports programs & camps, party planning and sports babysitting which focuses on basketball, football, soccer, baseball, volleyball, hockey, gymnastics, martial arts, bike riding, skateboarding, rollerblading, and snow boarding (seasonal).
Unlike many other sports programs which mainly provide little more than glorified babysitting services, Fun & Sports aims to provide a service that acts as a forum for learning. In this day and age, when television and video games have become one of our children's major pastimes, Fun & Sports will introduce children to the joys and rewards of outdoor play. By introducing healthy and active lifestyle choices in a non-threatening manner, we hope to give our campers an experience they will remember the rest of their lives.
At the end of our programs, we ensure that all our campers walk away with a sense of accomplishment, having learned everything necessary to play the sports and activities on which we have focused while remembering the thrill of playing and competing outdoors. Many sports camps focus only on sports. At Fun & Sports, we
believe
the qualities we impart to our campers - sportsmanship and teamwork, listening and concentration skills, a positive attitude and good manners, leadership skills, and the value of hard work - will all carry over into home play, the school year and the classroom. Throughout the year, coaches teach these qualities by using analogies and through personal example. The focus at Fun & Sports is not just creating better athletes, but helping to nurture a new generation of active, responsible, and focused individuals.
Our Philosophy
Today, video games and television have become a part of every child's life. It has become increasingly crucial as parents that we act to empower our children with after school activities and sports programs that will help them develop valuable life skills and build character.
Motivated to help, Samir Sarkar founded Fun & Sports with the belief that through learning the basic fundamentals of different sports & activities, children would obtain valuable skills that will last them a lifetime.
For the past 12 years, Fun & Sports has changed the lives of over 20,000 children and continues to be committed to improving the lives of our children by providing various sports programs that increase self-confidence and self-esteem, build sportsmanship and teamwork, and develop listening skills and concentration.
